Motivation Quote Embroidery — Michaela Wetherell

A one-off embroidery artwork by Michaela Wetherell, Director of Pink Collar Gallery. This piece was commissioned to be made for sale, developed as a form of sketching through thread — exploring drawing translated into stitching.

Michaela Wetherell is an amateur maker who, after more than a decade working in the arts as a curator, producer, and director of Pink Collar Gallery, has recently begun developing her own creative practice. Long advocating that creativity is for everyone, this work comes from finally taking that belief seriously herself.

Working primarily with embroidery, Michaela translates drawn ideas into stitched compositions using cross-stitch and freehand embroidery. This piece embraces colour, texture, and repetition, celebrating the act of making as much as the message itself. Rather than precise likeness or perfection, the work leans into process, intuition, and expression.
