A one-off embroidery artwork by Michaela Wetherell, Director of Pink Collar Gallery. This piece sits within an ongoing exploratory making practice, where mark-making becomes a way of thinking, relaxing, and sketching ideas into form.
Michaela Wetherell is an amateur maker who, after more than a decade working in the arts as a curator, producer, and director of Pink Collar Gallery, has recently begun developing her own creative practice. Long advocating that creativity is for everyone, this work comes from finally taking that belief seriously herself.
Working primarily through embroidery and drawing-based thinking, Michaela explores repetition, line, and flow. This piece follows a circular, continuous stitched movement — building rhythm through looping gestures that orbit, return, and shift across the surface. It embraces spontaneity and simplicity, where each stitch responds to the next, creating a quiet sense of motion, balance, and connection.
