Melissa Duncan is a contemporary artist whose practice explores the expanded field of painting, focusing on both personal and fictitious narratives. Her work often reimagines historical moral tales with a contemporary twist. Melissa’s large-scale paintings frequently spill onto the floor or take on three-dimensional forms, utilizing mixed media, canvas, cardboard, and found materials that are daubed, dripped, and covered in acrylic and spray paints.

Her works shift between representational and abstract, creating dynamic compositions. For example, a rabbit seems poised to scurry, caught between fight or flight, while a horse exudes confidence and strength.
